With his new movie "Rock of Ages" having just made its way into theaters, Alec Baldwin upped his exposure by taking over the cover of the August 2012 issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

The newly married 54-year-old actor looked handsome in a sleek black suit with a shirt and tie by Turnbull & Asser for the Norman Jean Roy shot front page while talking about topics including getting married, politics and his anger issues.

Highlights from Mr Baldwin's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Vanity Fair!

On getting hitched to Hilaria Thomas:
“I thought, I’m probably never going to meet somebody like this again, and so I decided I would get married. And I am getting married—which is kind of mind-blowing to me.”

On his strong desire to go into politics:
“I think I do want to go into politics. I really, really do. And I don’t know if I will.” Looking at Obama, he imagines the president saying to himself, “‘Wow, this isn’t what I thought it was going to be.’ You’ve got to put up with all this sh*t. If I want to run, run for what? You have to stop and ask a lot of whys. Run for the glory? Run to complete some missing piece of myself? I can keep doing what I’m doing for a living now and be perfectly happy.”

On where he thinks his anger issues stem from:
“You know, Hollywood does draw some very strange characters, and then the power of Hollywood and what they can do with it becomes like a blood sport to them.”
