Box Office: "Mission: Impossible" Outwits "Sherlock Holmes"

Ringing in the holiday by grabbing ahold of first place status, "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" shot to the number one spot at the box office over the Christmas weekend of December 24-26, 2011.

The Tom Cruise spearheaded action caper pulled in $9.7 million on Friday and $5.6 million on Saturday while expected to garner a total of $26.5 million during its second weekend of release.

Joining in on the BFI London Film Festival happenings, Daniel Craig took to the blue carpet to premiere his new movie "The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn" on Sunday (October 23).

The "007" stud looked dapper in a grey v-neck sweater overtop a white collared shirt and tie with jeans as he mingled with the audience lining the Odeon West End entrance while working his way inside the theater.

It doesn’t open until December 21, but two brand new trailers for “The Adventures of Tintin” have just been released.

The Steven Spielberg flick features the voices of Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook.

It’s already been building buzz, and now that “The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn” has released a trailer, things are really picking up.

The new clip of Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson’s collaborative motion capture animation film gives viewers an extended look at the promising upcoming film, due in theaters on December 23rd.

It’s not scheduled to hit theaters until December 26th, and already “The Adventures of Tintin” is creating major industry buzz.

The animated flick, a joint venture by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, is the first in a trilogy of three-dimensional motion capture films based on Georges Remi’s comic books.
