Adam Levine Jokingly Thanks Ryan Gosling in Sexiest Man Alive Speech
Continuing to fully embrace his new title, Adam Levine stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to reflect on being People’s Sexiest Man Alive.
On Wednesday evening (November 20), the Maroon 5 singer “officially” accepted the award in front of Kimmel’s LA audience and gave a laugh-inducing speech.
“Thank you. This is a tremendous honor. Unbelievable. A lot of people kind of trivialize this sort of thing," Adam began. "They think it's shallow, they think it's just a silly media stunt used to sell magazines and perpetuate the image of Hollywood being based on looks. And that's totally true. It is. But I'm completely cool with that.”
“This award actually means everything to me. Becoming this cool, confident and seductive has been quite a journey,” Levine continued.
Sharing his thanks, the 34-year-old said, "First and foremost, my mother and father, both incredibly sexy. Especially my dad, thanks man. I'd like to thank all my friends for constantly telling me how f---ing good I look…Ryan Gosling, thank you for turning this down constantly. That really helped my campaign.”
“Of course, my predecessors - George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, George Clooney, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, and George Clooney, of course,” Adam said. "And finally, I'd like to thank --surprisingly, I'd like to thank Nick Nolte, People's 'Sexiest Man Alive' 1992. For making me feel like maybe, maybe this award wasn't as out of reach as I might have once thought."
