He's had a hugely successful awards season, so it's no surprise that Jared Leto took home the Oscar for his role as Rayon in "Dallas Buyers Club."

Taking the stage to accept his Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, the 30 Seconds to Mars star thanked his mother for his prestigious prize.

"In 1971," Leto shared, "a teenage girl was pregnant with her second child. She was a high-school drop-out ... But somehow she managed to make a better life for her children."

"That girl is my mother, and she's here tonight. I wanna say, Mom, thank you for teaching me to dream."

In addition, Jared paid tribute to those involved with the story of his film, and said, "To those of you out there who ever felt injustice for who you are and how you look, tonight I stand here in front of the world for you."
