Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar Awards Pizza Delivery Guy Scores $1000 Tip
He became the most famous pizza guy in the world when Ellen DeGeneres ordered 20 pizzas to be delivered to the Dolby Theatre during the 86th Academy Awards on Sunday, and in addition to his fame, Edgar Martirosyan also got a small fortune.
The Big Mama’s and Papa’s Pizzeria owner told press that the whole ordeal was a bit dizzying though he had a good time.
“I didn’t know. It was a big surprise for me. They told me I’m going to deliver pizzas for writers, and then when I went there, Ellen (DeGeneres) came out and told me, ‘Just follow me.’”
“When I was going, I realized I’m on the stage, and I just went. … I wasn’t nervous. I was cool. I was shocked. I didn’t know what was going on.”
As for the all-important tip, Edgar noted that he received a total of $1000, well above the $600 that Ellen, herself, gave him. “Four hundred actually was ... from actors, and then Ellen added another $600.”
And business is booming as a result of the exposure- “It’s good. A lot of calls. It’s busy, it’s good.”
