With his film "Godzilla" nearing its anticipated premiere, Aaron Taylor-Johnson fronts the May 2014 issue of NYLON Guys magazine.

During his Q&A session, the "Kick Ass" star opened up about his acting struggles and shared details about his character in the action-adventure flick.

Check out GossipCenter's recap of Mr. Taylor-Johnson's interview below. For more, be sure to visit NYLON Guys!

On his career woes:
“It was a lot of crazy sh*t I got up to for a couple years. I was pretty self- destructive at one point. I used to smoke 30 cigs day, used to f*cking drink nonstop. I’ve always been able to be on the f*cking edge—be on the line, but then pull myself back. Stupid sh*t. Some interesting movies but a lot of TV. A lot of Nickelodeon bullsh*t.”

On his role as Ford Brody:
"He’s in the military and he’s usually away on tour. He’s running away from problems at home. It mirrored what his father did."

On his dad duties:
"You end up just finding out where the great naturopath is—the great kid’s doctor. I love the f*cking music class. I’m the only dad there. It’s, like, mums and nannies. And you’re clapping your hands. You’re singing more than the kids are."
